As Interesting As This Is...
I am enjoying the music, rather. It could be quite a bit worse, after all. I think if the station were inundated with giant squid and ocean water, I'd be much more uncomfortable. It's a little hard to go to bed, but than again, it always is.

They said he was pretty. I've never quite heard that description before, not when speaking about him. Is he? Am I?

It's strange, the way people categorize others. If he fits into a certain box, they can be comfortable around him, relatively speaking. If he was horrendous, or just plain, would that make him more intimidating? Does Ugliness hold that sort of power?

[/p]

What's more powerful, a poisonous toad or a kitten?

The kitten. It disarms.

But is it instinctual, or does it learn this?

Animals do not think in terms of subterfuge strategy, it will never realize nor learn its capacity. You, on the other hand, can. We'll look at it in more detail in our next strategy session.

It wasn't...a metaphor.

Mostly.

...I didn't think it was.

Use that brain of yours you must have somewhere.

Common sense dictates that the most inconspicuous one poses the most threat.

Have you been licking toads lately?

It was simply...a question.

And I have not.

Asking questions always runs the risk of getting an answer you don't like.
[info]snow_melts wrote:

That wasn't an answer. It was an insult.

I suppose you're right.

Of course.

The truth hurts.

But sometimes the lies we tell ourselves are preferable.

Or, at least, healthier.

The lie will end up damaging you more in the long run. Better to stand firmly with the truth.

People who cling to religion seem to enjoy it.

Pathetic, isn't it?

Why should it be? It makes them happy.

What else is there?
[info]hn_0584 wrote:

So then. Happiness, based on lies, ritualized institutions and wild myths, is a valid framework that one should base his or her life upon?

If, at the end of your life, you are content...why not?

It's always the dying ones who convert the quickest, isn't it?

To each his own. I don't need a man-made cradle of solace to ease my passing.

Is there some shame in that?

No one expects you to.
[info]hn_0584 wrote:

It's cowardly and arrogant to expect that there's anything better beyond this world, nevermind that you'd somehow be entitled to that fantasy-land.

Reality is rarely the issue at hand, in any situation.

You are a clear case to the fact that There is no way to change anyone's mind once they are set upon an idea. So there is no need for you to get adamant about it.

You asked.

Would you rather I be wishy-washy?
[info]hn_0584 wrote:

Of course, what you want is irrelevant; I'm not exactly here to fulfill your whims.

It was rhetorical.

That much has always been obvious, but thank you for clearing that up.

Is this all really necessary? Or are we physically incapable of being...civil?

I am pretty sure I am simply tired of this useless back and forth. We're not enemies.

Enemies?

I am pretty sure I have no idea where you'd get that impression, Hinata.
[info]snow_melts wrote:

I must have pulled that impression out of my butt, since you're so nice.

Perhaps that was poor word choice.

There is simply no reason for us to get into a disagreement every time we have a conversation.
[info]snow_melts wrote:

And, no, the solution is not necessarily to simply not speak.
[info]hn_0584 wrote:

Your perception is skewed. What you view as a "disagreement" I view as "discourse."

Do you let everyone push your buttons?

No.

May we agree to disagree, then?
